Breast Cancer Health and Wellness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Dr. Loren Rourke, MD, FACS, Director of the Breast Cancer Center at Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute and member of Maine Medical Partners – Surgical Care, will present and discuss “Breast Cancer Health and Wellness”.
Prior to joining Maine Medical Center, Dr. Rourke was at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world-renowned leader in cancer research and treatment. She led MD Anderson’s breast surgery program at the Woodlands Regional Care Center and held the faculty appointment of Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology, Division of Surgery. Dr. Rourke is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She completed the prestigious Susan G. Komen fellowship in the multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer and advanced surgical techniques at MD Anderson.
